Robbing from the poor, paying the errr poor...

This has been all over the news today.

I'm not going to weigh into it too much for obvious reasons. I am going to say that these organisations who are contracted by the Government are largely working with a group of people who have a lot of barriers and who need help, above and beyond the help of any standard labour hire company, such as this behemoth.

I know that this program has had a long and checkered history, with its beginnings in the old CES to now, with about three variations of the contract in between what it is today. Since the privatisation of this program, there have been many who have jumped on the bandwagon and in all honesty, this program made them into overnight millionaires who still service the contract. Others made short term profit and were busted for milking it for whatever it was worth, until the point it is at today - strict guidelines, little movement in the contract and less fees - it happens anywhere. It's the nature of the beast. But the evolution of this contract has seen it finetuned and over an eight-year period, it has evolved into the beast it is today.

In short, it was probably a learning process and this news article today, although rightly published because any news is worth publishing, it must be remembered that a contract which has evolved over a long period of time in order to iron out the creases, will become so complex, that it will confuse the bejeesus out of its suppliers. I also tend to think that in most situations like this, there is always more than one of the parties who must accept responsibility.

Now that I've put my two-bits in, it's time to hit the Publish button and get onto another entry - if I can think of one.
